Fine line botanical tattoos in Manchester

Fine line flowers and leaves, drawn by hand for you and shaped to the lines of your body.

Florals I've tattooed

Drawn to follow your body

For larger pieces I often draw straight onto your skin instead of using a stencil. The stems and petals grow along your curves, so the tattoo looks as though it has always been there.

Bring the flowers that mean something to you: a birth flower, one from your wedding, one from your grandmother's garden. I'll build the design around them.

Fresh and healed

The same flowers on the day and once they have settled into the skin.

Three ways to wear them

  • Close-up of black and grey flowers shaded on a shoulderBlack and greyFine lines and soft shading. It ages gently and suits every skin tone.
  • Close-up of pink and purple morning glories in full colour on a forearmFull colourThe flower's real colours, blended and layered so the petals look alive.
  • Close-up of black and grey peonies with a soft pink wash on a thighA wash of colourBlack and grey line work with a light touch of colour, like watercolour on a sketch.

From a single stem to a sleeve

A fine line flower can be as small as a single stem on the wrist or the ankle. Small florals start from £200 and usually take an hour or two.

A half day suits a piece of around 10 to 15 cm, like a bunch of flowers on the forearm or the upper arm. A full day suits 20 to 25 cm: a spine piece, a thigh, a shoulder that runs onto the collarbone. Bigger work, like a floral sleeve or a back piece, is done over several sessions, and I'll tell you how many when I quote.

Fine line work needs a little room to breathe, so I may suggest going slightly bigger than you pictured. It keeps the tattoo crisp as it settles over the years.

The flowers you bring

Roses and peonies are the flowers I'm asked for most, but some of my favourite pieces started with something smaller: forget-me-nots from a mum's garden, poppies, daffodils, morning glories, a sprig of leaves to finish a design.

Just tell me which flowers mean something to you. Every design is drawn from scratch, by hand, and made for you alone. If you want a flower for each person in your family, the birth flowers are a good place to start.

Prefer something ready to go? My flash designs are drawn already, priced per placement, and each one is tattooed only once.

Design questions

Will I see my design before the day?
No, and that's on purpose. Many of my florals are drawn freehand, straight onto your skin, and it's easier to adjust things together in person. I prepare your design from everything you send me and show it to you on the day. We go over it together, adjust anything you'd like, and I never start tattooing until you're completely happy with it. That's why the more you tell me in the form, the better. See my prices.
What does freehand mean?
For most pieces I don't use a stencil. I draw the design straight onto your skin with markers, so it follows the natural shape and movement of your body and fits far better than a stencil could.
Do you do cover-ups?
I'm sorry, I don't take on cover-ups. If you ever fancy a brand new piece, I'd love to hear from you.
