Boo
A bay mare who got her rider through her teens, and mothered every horse in the field.
Boo was her soul horse. They clicked the first day they met and spent years together after that. Boo was the one she told everything to, the one who built her confidence back up, and the one who got her through all the growing pains of being a teenager.

They competed together for years, and they played just as much. Boo had a huge personality and a lot of quirks, and everyone who met her fell for her. She still has a place in a lot of people's hearts.

She was a mother at heart. She looked after the other horses, and the humans too. She had a lovely retirement living out in a herd, and a peaceful passing at the end of a wonderful life.

I tattooed her in black and grey, from the photo of her in her headcollar. Around her I drew forget-me-nots, the flowers that come up in her mum's garden every year.

She told me the portrait is more than a memory. It holds everything she got through in those years, with Boo beside her. Now Boo stays with her for good.
“Her portrait means more to me than just a memory.”
